1. Galatic Civilizations 2(all)
2. Civilization(all)
3. X-Com(Enemy Unknown)
4. Master of Magic
5. Arena(Elder Scrolls)
6. DaggerFall(Elder Scrolls)
7. City of Heroes/City of Villains
8. Everquest(LOL I mean come on...it started the online addiction!!)
9. Star Trek Birth of the Federation
10. Diablo(Including Hellfire, but not D2)

Time to explain

1. GC 2(all expansions) What more can be said, honestly. Great game play, able to make ships of any kind and what you like, and just awesome fun. Has my number 1 spot over Civilization, due to its ability to be modded almost fully. Kudos Stardock!!

2. Civilizations(all) Ive loved this game since way back when it first came out and it has got constantly better! Was my number one game til Stardock came along and ruined it for me haha. Goes to show that if you keep making substantial improvements and additions to a game, that the game can "Stand the test of time!"

3. X-com, the first of the series and IMHO the best. I played this and played and played and kept praying for another great one to come out...Im still waiting. Why someone just doesnt update the graphics, tech and such, and keep the great tactical gameplay, is beyond me.

4. MoM, ahh mom...how I miss thee!! To the gamers that know and played this game, it still holds a special place in our hearts. Why, not sure, but it sure it was fun! Again, why doesnt someone keep the great fun gameplay and update!!! I wish I could play this now, but alas....

5. Arena- What a game, this is the game that first made me jump late at night!! Why? Because of the scary mobs, or dungeons....NOPE, the trumpet blast(ding) when you would hit a lvl haha! Many times I would jump outta my chair when it would go off. Still, great fun, and was amazing for its time! I wonder if ARena started the whole "ding" noise when you lvl?

6. Daggerfall -Even better and bigger than Arena, another great game, but sadly so buggy. Never could finish it due to a bug that kept me from hitting on main dungeon. Sigh

7. CoH/CoV I love this and still play today. Nothing like being super powered and can kick butt! I love flying around and just flying into enemies. Havnt stuck with it over the 4 years, but i was in the beta and still in the same SG that was started when the game came out.

8. Everquest, EQ, EverCrack...IMHO it started it all. Yes I know about UO, but I doubt UO was as huge as EQ. How many hours did I spend on Corpse running or dying in Unrest haha. Was so much fun, that even my wife played with me!!

9. BOTF-What a great game, though many who love the canon of Star Trek didnt like the game. Still, the races were fun and diverse, and oh if they just would have made a great sequel to clear up some of the bugs with it!!

10-Diablo...ok this may have been my first "online" game lol. I had some friends that got Hellfire to work multilayer(though still had some issues) and we spent countless Fridays and Saturdays running thru dungeons!! Good times, though this prolly was the reason I got addicted to pizza haha.

Well its time to let an old school gamer chime in...If there are any gamers here over 30 years old, tell me if you remember these:

1.) The Bards Tale Three: Thief of Fate.....absolutely the funnest RPG I have ever played. Still play it today on a C64 emulator on this PC.
2.) Wasteland.....another Interplay game and a damn fine number 2 to the Bards Tale.
3.) Street Fighter 2: Championship Edition.....the championship edition was %10 faster than the standard version and included the ability to play the four bosses as well. If I had just half of the quarters back I spent playing this game, I would have retired years ago.
4.) Legacy of The Ancients...Top down style RPG in the vein on Questron. Incredibly fun.
5.) Phantasie...The first RPG I ever played. My puberty years were spent whackin off in the dark while this game loaded for what seemed like 30 minutes on my C64.
6.) Age of Wonders: Shadow Magic....the best of the AoW series. Beautiful fantasy setting, stunning graphics even by todays standards, and near flawless gameplay.
7.) Mortal Kombat...with my supreme mastery of Street Fighter 2 finally accomplished, I moved on the gorier, less forgiving, Mortal Kombat.
8.) Dungeons @ Dragons: Pool of Radiance.....I didnt so much play this masterpiece of game by myself as much as I played it with my best friend. Our frienship today is anchored by many of these games we played in our early years. This was an important game for us. We still talk about the fun times we had while playing this.
9.) Metroid...few games can rival the thrill of persuing the Mother Brain.
10.) Castlevania...while the myriad of sequels to this game mostly suck..(except for the superb Lament of Innocence)...the original is still a downright classic of the Nintendo era.

Damn this was fun! Shane

LOL wow Starchild, you took me back haha I remember most of those games and it brings back memories. Metroid haha...man theres a game I logged some hours on. Castlevania, wow again...and I still remember when I beat Drac on that haha. Pools of Radiance was good, but I liked Pools of Darkness better. I miss those kind of games. Easy, fun to play and not so complicated that you get a headache, thinking about what to do. Street fighter...lol woohoo Go Chun Li..yuk yuk!!
